The Maranyundo campus was designed and built to international standards, with careful consideration of local taste and needs. The land was given to the Maranyundo Initiative on a 99-year land lease from the Rwandan government. A Rwandan architect and an American architect worked in partnership to design the campus. The process in building the school campus was a collaborative effort from the onset. Weekly meetings of project managers, architects, and designers in the US and Rwanda created a structure of information and support that led the school's campus to be built both on time and within budget.
Rwandan contractors and engineers built the campus with an emphasis on using local materials and laborers from the Bugesera District. The school sits on 3 hectares of land allowing for ample academic and extracurricular space. The main school buildings are organized around a central oval, traditional to Rwandan culture. There are ten buildings on the campus, which include a library media center with advanced equipment, classrooms, science laboratories, administration building, dining hall, dorms for the girls and two residences for faculty and administration. Outside, there are gardens to promote sustainability, gathering spaces, and a basketball court.
