Celebrating International Women’s Day 2022

On this International Women's Day, we are thrilled to share that Head of the Maranyundo Girls School, Sister Laetitia, was one of the four women in Rwanda honored for outstanding work in engaging, inspiring and promoting women and girls in STEM.

She was the recipient of the Champion of Science Award Certificate for her "contribution to improving the odds of the next generation of young female scientists in their careers." She was also applauded for her advocacy to provide laptops for each MGS high school student.

The award was organized by the Rwandan Association for Women in Science and Engineering (RAWISE) and the National Council for Science and Technology. RAWISE visited MGS for a celebratory event with the students and presented Sr. Laetitia with the award.

Congratulations to Sister Laetitia for this impressive achievement and recognition!

In January, Sister Laetitia purchased laptops for the S4 students (10th graders), so now every high schooler at MGS has their own laptop.

Thank you to our supporters who donated to the Technology Initiative this past year. You helped Sister Laetitia give each girl their own computer to continue their studies whether on campus or remote, and enhance the technology infrastructure across campus.
