Strengthening Tech Learning and Broadening Impact through the MGS Learning Hub

Update 9/29/2021

About 3 months later and we are almost halfway to our goal of $150,000! We have received so much support from longtime supporters, many of which have increased their annual amounts, and new donors looking to support the technology needs of MGS. We have also received support from a charitable family foundation as well as MGS families and alum who have pitched in!

Thank you so much to everyone for getting us to nearly half of our goal!

With COVID-19 completely upending education in Rwanda and around the world, it is clear that strong tech infrastructure and the ability to connect through online learning are no longer a luxury, but critical for education.

Aligning with Rwanda's efforts to expand tech use in schools throughout Rwanda, MGS has a goal to provide laptops to all high school students for their three years of high school!

At the start of 2021, Maranyundo gifted the Senior class their own laptops.

MGS is also aiming to leverage its resources to ensure others are not left behind by serving as a STEM Learning Hub for the benefit of communities beyond the school, including teachers, students and others throughout Bugesera District.

Now, the Maranyundo Initiative is fundraising for our annual grant program, including scholarships and faculty support, with an increased goal of $150,000 for:

1) stronger campus-wide internet,

2) personal laptops for each high school student,

3) tech support to help manage and expand the school's technology, and

4) funding to provide STEM trainings and community programming in Bugesera.

To date, we have raised over $74,000 for Tech excellence and STEM Learning.

You can help too!

$450 can buy a laptop for one MGS high school student
$1,500 can support a month of stronger internet throughout the MGS campus
$3,000 can help provide trainings for teachers at a partner school in Bugesera

Please support this important initiative today!
