Joyce K. Fletcher is Professor of Management at the Center for Gender in Organizations, Simmons Graduate School of Management, and Co-director of Working Connections Project, Jean Baker Miller Training Institute, Stone Center, Wellesley College. She uses relational theory to study a wide range of workplace issues including leadership, organizational learning and gender dynamics. She is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences on the topic of women, power and leadership and is the co-author of a widely read Harvard Business Review article entitled: A Modest Manifesto for Shattering the Glass Ceiling. She is author of Disappearing Acts: Gender, Power and Relational Practice at Work (MIT Press), a book that explores the subtle dynamics that often disappear women’s leadership behavior at work and co-author of Beyond Work Family Balance: Advancing Gender Equity and Workplace Performance (Jossey Bass), a book about how to lead organizational change efforts to achieve the dual outcomes of equity and effectiveness. She is the past Chair of the Board of Directors and serves on several committees including the Education, Communications, and Fundraising Committees.
