Sister Juvenal became a Benebikira nun in 1970. She graduated from Fribourg University in Switzerland in 1984, and served as headmistress of the 600 student Rambura Secondary School until 1990. Appointed to serve as Executive Secretary, she was responsible for overseeing the administration of the Order’s 12 secondary and 8 primary schools. In 1996 Sister Juvenal was elected General Superior of the Benebikira Congregation and served in that capacity until 2008. She was influential in the Order’s work to provide care and compassion for orphans of the genocide. Sister Juvenal completed a Post Graduate diploma in Counseling at Boston College in 2010 and has since served as Headmistress of Maranyundo Girls School.
