MTLC Construction is Almost Complete!

The Story of the MTLC

In 2020, Maranyundo began sharing best practices and resources—including teacher laptops and makerspace trainings—with the 16 other Benebikira schools across Rwanda. Recognizing Maranyundo’s impact, the Rwandan Ministry of Education invited the school to develop the MTLC. From this vision, the idea of creating a teacher training hub on the Maranyundo Girls School campus in Nyamata, Rwanda was born.

Construction of the MTLC began in 2023, bringing together architects, educators, partners, and community members to turn this vision into reality.

Today, the MTLC stands as a state-of-the-art training center that will equip thousands of teachers across Rwanda with digital literacy skills and hands-on training in STEM, Makerspace and novel engineering, college counseling, and English—expanding opportunities for students nationwide.
