Sister Laetitia Musanabaganwa, Head of Maranyundo Girls School (MGS) in Rwanda, arrived in Boston ahead of the Maranyundo Fall Gala for a special week of visits, meaningful connections, and celebration. Her visit included time at Westover School in Connecticut and gatherings with Maranyundo supporters with opportunities to reconnect with MGS alumnae.
Sister Laetitia spent two days at Westover School, strengthening the wonderful partnership between the two schools. During her visit, she toured Westover’s Makerspace and greenhouse and shared the story of Maranyundo Girls School during a school service. Rooted in a shared commitment to girls' education and empowerment, the partnership between Maranyundo and Westover creates opportunities for students and educators to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. Through student visits, collaborative STEM projects, and cultural exchange, the two schools have built relationships that extend across continents.
Sister Laetitia joined friends of Maranyundo for a special dinner hosted by Board Member Daphne Petri. The evening brought together longtime supporters, board members, and MGS alumnae for an opportunity to connect with Sister Laetitia, hear updates from Rwanda, and celebrate the school's mission. It was also a wonderful opportunity for Sister Laetitia to reconnect with MGS graduates and celebrate their continued accomplishments. The gathering highlighted the strong sense of community that connects Maranyundo supporters and alumnae.
The week culminated in the Maranyundo Fall Gala, where Sister Laetitia joined more than 130 guests, supporters, and friends of Maranyundo for an evening celebrating the school's accomplishments and its continued impact on young women in Rwanda. Her visit was a meaningful opportunity to strengthen relationships, share the school's progress, and bring together the community that makes Maranyundo's mission possible.
