Maranyundo’s First Fall Gala

On Friday, October 17th, 2025, Maranyundo Initiative had its first Fall Gala event at the Rochambeau in Boston, Massachusetts. There were raffle baskets, a silent and live auction, and a paddle raise. The Head of Maranyundo Girls School, Sister Laetitia, and MGS alums shared their stories about the power of education and learning in Rwanda. Many new and longtime supporters joined together in a night of celebration.

Take a look at some photos from the event below!

Together, we raised more than $140,000 to help expand educational opportunities for girls and teachers in Rwanda.

This support comes at a critical moment. In 2024, the Initiative received a $1 million USAID grant to launch the Maranyundo Training and Learning Center (MTLC). However, the recent suspension of U.S. government funding to civil society organizations in the region has limited Maranyundo’s ability to access those funds.

Thanks to the generosity shown at the Gala, Maranyundo can continue providing scholarships to students at the Maranyundo Girls School—where over two-thirds of students rely on financial aid—and sustain the MTLC, which is on track to train 500 teachers and reach even more nationwide by 2030.

A special thank you to our sponsors and auction donors for making the event possible.

The Fall Gala was truly a night to remember!
