On October 11th, 2023, Maranyundo Girls School proudly took part in the celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child. The occasion brought together students from SOLA (School of Leadership Afghanistan), Maranyundo Girls School, Gashora Girls Academy, and their dedicated school leaders and teachers. The event was a source of inspiration, thanks to the influential presence of Madame Shabana, the founder of SOLA, and the gracious speech delivered by the First Lady of Rwanda, Madame Jeannette Kagame.

In her address, the First Lady emphasized the crucial role of education as a fundamental human right, a powerful tool for personal growth, and a catalyst for societal progress. Near the end of 2023, Sister Laetitia and a dedicated group of individuals, specializing in providing support for familial issues, also had the honor of hosting the First Lady at Maranyundo Girls School with the focus of their discussion revolving around the profound impact of harmonious and resilient families on the upbringing of the younger generation. Together, they explored strategies to instill values that would empower the youth to not only contribute to the growth of their country but also play a vital role in shaping a positive future for the entire world.

Maranyundo extends heartfelt gratitude to the First Lady for gracing the 2023 International Day of the Girl Child event and contributing to discussions on fostering resilient families and shaping a positive future for Maranyundo Girls and beyond.
