Maranyundo visits Rwanda!

In February, a wonderful group of board members, and their friends and family embarked on an unforgettable journey to Rwanda! Let’s take a look into this amazing journey.

Board member Daphne Petri traveled with seven close friends, joined by Board Chair Lisa Tellekson and her husband, and a friend of Maranyundo Sarah Gauger and her daughter. The group visited the Maranyundo Girls School, where students proudly showcased awards from Debate and Makerspace competitions.

The group cheered on MGS students at the FIRST LEGO League competition at the Kigali Convention Center, where the students won 2nd place and took home 10 laptops! Congrats to the team for their outstanding achievement!

An important MTLC Stakeholder Meeting was held at the Kigali Convention Center with the Sisters and 60+ key partners, sparking dialogue on building a community-based learning hub that goes beyond teacher experience. We’re encouraged that the connections built during this dialogue will evolve into lasting, impactful partnerships.

The group also enjoyed a wonderful safari at Akagera National Park, where they spotted elephants, zebras, and giraffes. They also experienced the unforgettable adventure of gorilla trekking near the Volcanoes region. It truly was a fantastic trip.
